Stepfun has launched several advanced AI models, including Step-2, a groundbreaking language model with one trillion parameters based on the Mixture of Experts (MoE) architecture; Step-1.5V, a powerful large multimodal model; and Step-1V, an innovative image generation model. In December 2024, Stepfun secured "hundreds of millions of dollars" in a Series B funding round led by Fortera Capital, a private equity firm under Shanghai State-owned Capital Investment Co. Other investors included Tencent Holdings and Qiming Venture Partners. This funding will support the development of the company's foundational AI models and strengthen their consumer-focused product portfolio.
